SINGAPORE'S FIRST SWISS SPRING MARKET: A RECAP

SINGAPORE'S FIRST SWISS SPRING MARKET: A RECAP

Showcasing Swiss Sustainability and Innovation

It took us the better part of the pandemic - nearly two years! - but we were finally able to turn the concept of the Swiss Spring Market into a reality over the past weekend. It was an event where we truly tried to show Singapore that there is So Much More From Switzerland in terms of innovation, product quality, and sustainability - three elements that have helped build our own ethos for conscious consumption.

For us it was also the first event where we could actually invite people to come to the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) campus along Lady Hill Road, and it was a beautiful venue that helped convey our message of crossing cultural borders through product excellence and innovative thinking. EHL Singapore truly embodied the best of Swiss hospitality as they were a great host and warmly welcomed visitors to the event.

Part of Swiss Weeks 2022

We are both pleased and humbled to have had the support of the Swiss Embassy in Singapore through the auspices of HE Ambassador Fabrice Filliez.

They liked the concept and the way we executed the event  in the context of Swiss Weeks 2022. Ambassador Filliez enjoyed spending time with us, taking pride in what our home country brings to the rest of the world, particularly where forward-thinking brands like sustainability-driven FREITAG, SGProtein, and Soeder, world-class creative enclaves like Vitra, and heritage brands like BERNINA could present different aspects of Swiss business and retail.

We truly hope that this is just the first of many initiatives and cooperative endeavours where we can truly present the brands and products Switzerland can proudly show off to the world.

Fun For Everyone

There seemed to be something to do for everyone who attended, and we all got to enjoy some excellent coffee from an expert barista representing Solis of Switzerland. Hopefully, we will be able to offer more Swiss food and beverage options at other similar events soon.

Meanwhile, FREITAG aficionados from all over Singapore arrived en masse, thrilled to have an opportunity to meet and interact with fellow fans of the fashion brand. I personally think that the real highlight for them was the activity where they all got to craft their very own FREITAG key rings.

Finally, just in time for the restart of traveling, Switzerland Tourism's regional director Batiste Pilet made a compelling presentation that gave so many audience members a strong yearning to plan and book a Swiss holiday some time in the near future.

For me, personally, it was a great way to bring events back into Singapore's social scene. And I am proud of what we pulled off. Watch out, this was just the beginning, I look forward to doing this again.
